Look for our red cardboard-only dumpsters for the public to use located in the Elden’s parking lot by the floral door and at our warehouse 1301 36 Ave W in the industrial park by Alex Rubbish. These dumpsters for loose cardboard are emptied twice a week; no need to break down boxes! If you are a business who wishes to donate your cardboard via cardboard bales, compactors, or dumpsters, or if you are interested in that service, please contact us. We appreciate your donations and can help!
Mission Statement And Goals
In order to bring visual arts programming to the underserved youth and adults in the Alexandria, MN area, we pledge financial support for teaching artists who offer engaging visual art classes and donate art supplies to children in need in our region. This is accomplished through generous community support via cash and recyclable cardboard donations from local businesses. Those proceeds are then returned to the community in the form of quality visual art instruction at little to no cost to students.
We aspire to own and operate a visual art center as a home base for art classes in Alexandria, Minnesota. We envision this space to have art classrooms for drawing, painting, pottery, fine crafts, and more. To enrich the community further we would designate a portion of the space to gallery and small group performances. In addition, we plan to one day provide art scholarships and artist residencies that will have a community component to add artistic experiences to the Alex Lakes Area.
